Dr. Graziano Oldani

Assistant Professor, University of British Columbia, Vancouver

Dr. Graziano Oldani studied medicine at the University of Pavia, Italy, as an alumnus of Collegio Ghislieri.

After undergoing training in general surgery in Italy, England, and Switzerland, he specialized in abdominal organ transplantation and HPB surgery at the University of Toronto. From January 2020 to December 2022, he practiced at the Geneva University Hospitals in Switzerland. His clinical activities focus on MIS/Robotic HPB surgery as well as liver and pancreas transplantation.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Oldani is deeply involved in research. Following his PhD in 2015, he continued his research in Geneva, leading a translational research group with the support of the Swiss National Science Foundation and private funding. The primary focus of his research involves the biogeneration of autologous organs for transplantation, xenotransplantation, and the development of surgical devices. In January 2023, his lab relocated to the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute
