Research Challenge

I have had the honour of receiving several research grants from ODTRF, including two Research Challenge awards. Their support is very meaningful. They understand that knowledge from research has direct benefits for patients. They help clinicians and patients bring research ideas to life. I am eternally grateful for ODTRF’s partnership and collaboration.

The Organ Donation and Transplant Research Foundation of BC (ODTRF) is partnering with Providence Health Care (PHC) and Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) to fund solid organ transplant related projects through their Research Challenge programs.

These programs are targeted at Point-of-Care Nursing and Allied Health Staff, and provide $8,000-$10,000 grants to qualified projects.

This year, ODTRF will fund 1 -2 highly ranked transplant related projects through each of these Programs. We are particularly interested in clinical or practice oriented projects that directly impact patient care or organ donation. Examples include: helping transplant recipients track their medication and appointments, reducing pain and discomfort associated with clinical tests and procedures, helping transplant recipients connect with support groups, or information/support to help families of hospitalized, potential organ donors.
