The Team Grant enabled the development of a novel, individualized approach to predicting the risk of cytomegalovirus (CMV), a major infection after kidney transplantation. The results of this pilot project have paved the way for a study involving other solid organ transplant recipients.
The Organ Donation and Transplant Research Foundation of BC (ODTRF) is pleased to partner with Providence Health Care Research Institute (PHCRI) and Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) to fund two highly ranked Team Grants, one at Vancouver Costal Health and one at Providence Health Care.
The Organ Donation and Transplant Research Foundation of BC (ODTRF) is pleased to partner with Providence Health Care Research Institute (PHCRI) and Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) to fund two highly ranked Team Grants, one at Vancouver Coastal Health and one at Providence Health Care. Intended to build health research capacity, these grants are based on a collaborative partnership between health care providers and experienced researchers.
These grants are designed to address patient identified priorities in transplant research and encompass various facets of post-transplant care and enhanced organ donation practices. The focus on patient priorities in research is in line with a greater movement to see patients more actively engaged in research and healthcare. In partnership with PHCRI and VCHRI we will fund two $30,000 highly ranked transplant related projects as part of the Team Grant competition.
